About Steve Haigh
Indiana painter Steve Haigh spent his formative years in Toledo, OH where from a very young age his love for the outdoors was born. As a teenager Steve attended Outward Bound in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado which opened his eyes to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. This experience, more than anything, cemented his lifelong love for landscapes and the West.
After receiving the Artist Award at his High School graduation, Steve went on to Miami University where he focused on a business degree. Yet while studying business, he was still able to squeeze in seven semesters of ceramics to continue to live out his passion for all things artistic! More recently, Steve has further developed his artist skills at the Indianapolis Art Center and also painting under the tutelage of well known Indiana painters, John Reynolds and Julie Houck.
Steve's inspiration and passion for painting comes from his lifelong experiences in the outdoors, his family, and his faith. He enjoys fly-tying and fly fishing, woodworking, hunting, coaching soccer, spending time with family, teaching Sunday school, and of course painting. Steve and his family are involved in Carmel Young Life, a Christian organization for High School and Middle School aged kids. You're just as likely to find Steve with a fly rod in hand as you are a paintbrush, chasing trout, bass, and beautiful scenery around Carmel or as far away as Montana and Michigan.
Steve now resides in Carmel, Indiana with his wife and three children.
